Audiomeca Pierre Lurne
Audiomeca Pierre Lurne Origins
Pierre Lurné, the founder of Audiomeca, began his journey in the high-fidelity industry by designing his first tonearm in 1968 when he was 20 years old. He formed Audiomeca Company in 1979, focusing on the design and manufacturing of tonearms and turntables. His first turntable, the “Minimum,” was designed in 1979 as a research vehicle to develop his ideas on turntable fundamentals. Although the Minimum was never offered for sale, it laid the groundwork for future designs. Audiomeca took over the manufacture of the straight-line tracking T3 tonearm in 1981 and was responsible for the design and manufacture of the Goldmund Studietto turntable in 1983 and the straight-line Goldmund T-5 tonearm the following year. These activities ceased when Goldmund moved its operations from France to Switzerland. In 1987, Pierre introduced the Audiomeca J1 turntable at the Las Vegas CES.
