CEC Origins
CEC, a Japanese audio equipment manufacturer, was established in 1954. Initially, the field of motors for phonograph turntables was not yet widely explored, but CEC became the first company in Japan to manufacture turntables. The company quickly gained recognition among music enthusiasts for its high-quality products.
In 1983, CEC introduced its first CD player, leveraging its expertise in analog technology to implement a belt drive system in CD transports. This innovation marked a significant milestone in the company’s history and set the stage for its continued development of belt drive CD transports.
CEC has been a leading supplier of CD players and turntables in the consumer market, providing products to major brand OEM customers such as Alpine, Grundig, Kenwood, Marantz, Mitsubishi, Sanyo, Sharp, Sony, Teac, Toshiba, and others. The company’s goal has always been to create outstanding, high-end audio products, adhering to a vision-oriented policy that has served its customers well.
In 2011, CEC inaugurated a new company building and production facility in Japan, further solidifying its position as a leader in the audio equipment industry.
