Dais

Nottingham Analogue's Dais turntable originates from the late 1970s UK hi-fi scene, revived as a modern flagship model.

Original Dais (1970s)

Designed by Tom Fletcher under his Dais/Nottingham Analogue banner pre-1978, the initial Dais was a high-inertia idler-drive deck praised for rock-steady speed and musicality. It gained cult status among UK audiophiles before Fletcher rebranded to Nottingham Analogue Studios, discontinuing it amid the digital shift.

Modern Revival (2000s–Present)

Relaunched post-Mentor (1990s–2010s successor), the current Dais features a 20kg cast-iron platter, graphite mat, Wave Mechanic power supply, and damped sub-plinth for elite resonance control—positioned below the Anna Log but with similar bearing/armboard tech. UK hand-built in Huntingdon, it accommodates dual arms (e.g., SME/Anna) and emphasizes surface coupling via damping base.

This evolution reflects Fletcher's 40+ year obsession with mechanical grounding over suspension, yielding "inky black" silence and dynamic retrieval.
