Eumig
Eumig Origins
Eumig was an Austrian company that manufactured audio and video equipment from 1919 until 1982. Founded by Karl Vockenhuber, Alois Handler, and Adolf Halpern, the company initially produced lighters, cigarette cases, and electrical materials. Eumig began manufacturing radios in 1924 and later expanded into film equipment and projectors. The company’s involvement in audio equipment production included radios and eventually turntables. However, Eumig declared bankruptcy in 1981 and was liquidated by 1985. The rights to the Eumig name were later acquired by the German company Rothenberger GmbH in 1989 for the production of cameras and audio and video systems.
