Goodmans

Origins of Goodmans

Goodmans Industries, a British consumer electronics company, originated in London in 1923. Initially, the company focused on manufacturing loudspeakers for public address systems. Production and engineering operations were originally based in Wembley, London, before relocating to Havant, Hampshire. Goodmans expanded their product line in the 1960s to include amplifiers, introducing the Maxamp 30, the first British-made solid-state amplifier. Over the decades, the company continued to develop various audio equipment, including turntables, loudspeakers, amplifiers, tuners, and receivers, and later diversified into consumer electronics such as in-car entertainment and digital radios.
