Hanpin Origins

Hanpin Electron is a Taiwanese manufacturer of professional audio equipment founded in 1965. The company began manufacturing turntables in 1974. Hanpin is known for producing what are referred to as “Super OEM” turntables, which are direct copies of popular DJ turntables like the Technics SL-1200. One of their notable models is the DJ-5500, which is often rebranded by other companies. For example, the Reloop Turn 5 and the Pioneer PLX-1000 are both based on the Hanpin DJ-5500 design.
