Harris

Harris Origins

The Harris audio company, known for manufacturing the CB1201 turntable, has its roots in the Gates Radio Company. The CB1201 turntable was originally produced under the Gates brand and later under the Harris brand. The transition from Gates to Harris occurred in 1975. The CB series turntables are named after Cora B. Gates, the mother of Parker Gates, who was the founder of Gates Radio Company. This company is renowned for its contributions to the audio industry, particularly for its “in-line” mixing console design, which has become a standard for many large-format music consoles.
