HH Scott
Origins of HH Scott
H. H. Scott, Inc., a major manufacturer of hi-fi equipment in the U.S., was founded in 1947 by Hermon Hosmer Scott in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The company moved to Maynard, Massachusetts, in 1957. H. H. Scott was known for pioneering developments in audio technology, including noise suppression, tube output circuits, and FM multiplex tuners. However, regarding turntables, the original HH Scott company did not manufacture many turntables themselves. Except for the original HH Scott manual turntable, most turntables were outsourced. The company faced financial difficulties and was forced to sell out in 1973 to SYMA International, a European licensee.
