Kronos
Kronos Origins
Kronos was founded by Louis Desjardins, who developed the prototype of what would become the Kronos turntable. This prototype was first demonstrated at the Montreal Audio show in 2011, where it played a test pressing of a recording of Holst’s The Planets. The demonstration was so successful that Desjardins decided to manufacture the turntable, initially as a limited edition with 250 units. The name was later changed to the PRO, and the company was established as Kronos Audio. The PRO model was first officially shown at CES 2012. The Sparta, a more affordable version of the PRO, was developed during 2013 and introduced at CES 2014.
