Pear Audio Blue Origins
The origins of Pear Audio Blue, a manufacturer of high-quality turntables, trace back to Peter Mezek’s passion for music and hi-fi equipment. In the 1980s, Mezek developed his first product, the Rational Audio TT, a parallel tracking tonearm turntable, which gained significant attention and positive reviews. He then distributed the Linn LP-12 and Well Tempered turntables for many years.
When Well Tempered was sold to new owners and parts became unavailable, Tom Fletcher, the founder of Nottingham Analogue, stepped in to help Mezek. Fletcher designed and built a turntable for Mezek, leading to the creation of Pear Audio Blue. The first Pear Audio Blue turntables were manufactured at Nottingham Analogue’s factory. Fletcher and Mezek worked closely together for years, with Fletcher sharing his design secrets and technology, while Mezek contributed his extensive experience with turntables from various manufacturers. This collaboration resulted in the current line of Pear Audio Blue turntables, which continue to embody Fletcher’s design principles and Mezek’s expertise.
