Perpetuum Ebner Origins
The origins of the Perpetuum-Ebner audio company, a manufacturer of turntables, can be traced back to 1911 when it was first established as “PERPETUUM” by Josef Steidinger. The company operated for decades, producing high-end audio components for audiophiles around the world. In 1949, the plate changer PE 10 was introduced and is still available today in its upgraded form, the PE 1010.
However, the brand ceased operations in 1973. It was not until 2015 that Wolfgang Epting revived the brand through the company WE Audio Systems KG, which now develops and manufactures Perpetuum Ebner brand turntables in St. Georgen in the Black Forest. This revival brought back the tradition and legacy of Josef Steidinger and the rich history of Perpetuum Ebner.
