Schiit

Schiit Origins

Schiit, an American privately held audio company, was founded in June 2010 by Jason Stoddard and Mike Moffat. Both founders have backgrounds in high-end audio electronics, with Stoddard having been a lead engineer at Sumo, a company known for its high-end amplifiers, and Moffat having helped design expensive digital-to-analog converters for Theta Digital. The idea of making high-end desktop audio components affordable was the driving force behind the creation of Schiit Audio. Initially, the company focused on producing affordable DACs and headphone amplifiers.

Schiit Audio began manufacturing turntables later in its history. The Sol turntable was one of their notable products, which incorporated several unique features for an entry-level turntable, such as a detachable motor housing and a high-performance platter bearing. However, due to supply chain issues, the Sol turntable is no longer in production.
