Origins of Sentec

Sentec was an audio laboratory and manufacturer based in Sweden. Founded by Johan Bernstrom, Sentec produced a range of high-fidelity electronics from 1973 to 2002. The company offered both prebuilt and DIY versions of its products, specializing in low-gain, tube-based phono preamplifiers with multiple equalization settings. These devices were designed to accommodate records pressed by companies that did not fully comply with the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) standards introduced in 1954.
