Siemens

Origins of Siemens Audio

The origins of Siemens, including its audio division, can be traced back to 1847 when Werner von Siemens and Johann Georg Halske founded the Telegraphen-Bau-Anstalt von Siemens & Halske in Berlin. Initially, the company focused on telegraph technology and later expanded into various sectors including electronics and audio equipment. However, Siemens has since spun off some of its divisions, such as Siemens Healthineers in 2017, which includes the audio and medical technology sectors. For turntables and audio equipment specifically, Clearaudio electronic GmbH is a notable German manufacturer, though it is not directly related to Siemens. Siemens itself has not been a dedicated manufacturer of turntables but has been involved in various audio and electronic equipment throughout its history.
