Sonographe
Origins of Sonographe
The Sonographe line of turntables was marketed by Conrad Johnson, but the designer and manufacturer are not specified in the available information. The Sonographe SG-3 turntable, in particular, features a suspended acrylic subchassis, extensive use of acrylic for resonance control, and uses the same Hurst motor as AR tables. This design was influenced by George Merrill’s work, evident in the use of acrylic for resonance management.
