Origins of Spiral Groove

Spiral Groove, a manufacturer of high-performance audio products with a focus on analog turntables and tonearms, was founded in 2005 in Berkeley, California. The company was established by Allen Perkins, who has over 20 years of experience in high-end audio design. Prior to founding Spiral Groove, Perkins played a significant role in the evolution of the SOTA turntables, where he incorporated his insights from customer support and design improvements into the Cosmos model. He also worked on the RPM turntables, which were a blend of his earlier designs and new innovations. Spiral Groove continues Perkins’ legacy of combining art and science in audio design, aiming to produce turntables that deliver precise speed control and minimal mechanical or electronic noise, ensuring an uncompromised signal from vinyl records.
