Additional Information

A full-track mono professional tape recorder manufactured in Melbourne by Consolidated Electronic Industries (CEI), which had purchased the rights to the '77' design lineage from Rola (which had in turn acquired it from Byer). By the mid-1970s it was a fully solid-state machine with all-direct-drive, three-motor transport (no belts, only the pinch roller used rubber) and electronically controlled shuttle speed for fast cueing.
