Two of several Thorn Group models built around Thorn's new DB42 Mk II tape deck; the 3208 came in a rugged portable case with handle, the 3212 in a wooden plinth for hi-fi use. Reels up to 5.75 inches, auto-stop, an EM87 electron-beam level indicator, cross-track recording and stereo playback via external amplifier. Solenoid-switched, light-touch transport controls permitted an optional remote control.
