First introduced in 1950, the Series C recorder was a precision portable recorder capable of being run from a 12V battery or from AC mains using an optional power unit. 7 or 9.5 inch spools could be used. Model C-621P (1956) consisted of the mechanical C-6 unit and the Type 21 mixer/amplifier unit. Options included fully equalised off-tape monitoring, audio test oscillator, a synchropulse model for use with film.
