An extremely rare 3-head, 3-motor, dual-capstan reel-to-reel recorder of which only 10 machines were built in Marantz's Japan development laboratory; shown at the Japan Audio Fair and Consumer Electronics Show but never put into full production. Fast winding of a 26cm reel took 130 seconds via combined electronic/mechanical braking; recording was 2-track only, though the head assembly also carried a 4-track playback-only head.
