The 8002 or T40 was a high-end domestic stereo recorder with three heads and three motors. The stylish, European design was reminiscent of Telefunken's machines of the same era. Features included solenoid transport controls, illuminated track display, front-mounted input or output sockets (DIN) and twin 3 x 8 inch speakers. Power output was 3 watts per channel.
