Olimp 005-C1 (MPK-005 S-1)

Late-1980s/1990 revision of the Olimp 005 (Kirov/Lepse), sold as MPK-005S-1. An affordable machine among the USSR's highest-class decks. Configuration: four-track stereo, two tape speeds (9.53 and 19.05 cm/s), automatic stop or reverse at tape end sensed optically through standard leader tape via an infra-red LED (no metal foils needed). Drive/control: direct drive with three motors and no drive belts; quartz speed stabilisation on the capstan motor; electronic switching of operating modes; connection via 5-pin DIN. Options: optional wireless infra-red timer/remote unit.
