Soviet portable transistor reel-to-reel, made from 1965 by the Leningrad 'Pyrometer' plant - the first of the small Orbita series.
Configuration: two-track (dual-track) record/playback; twin-motor transport (leading motor DKS-16, rewind motor DM-0.3-3A); single speed 9.53 cm/s; reels hold 180 m of type-6 tape (about 2 x 30 min); track change is by removing and turning the reels over.
Electronics/power: all-transistor (P39B, P41, P37, P201) with the amplifier on printed circuit boards; universal power from A-373 cells or an external mains supply; records from microphone, broadcast line, pickup or receiver; plays through the internal or an external speaker.
Audio: line-output frequency range about 60-10,000 Hz; rated output about 0.5 W.
