Additional Information

Swiss valve reel-to-reel from Perfectone (Biel), part of its domestic 'DABE' series (the same maker as the professional EP6A field recorders). Perfectone's early/mid-1950s domestic machines were solidly built table/suitcase units. Series characteristics: two tape speeds (9.5 and 19 cm/s), reels up to about 25 cm, an outer-rotor motor mounted between the reels driving the transport through friction wheels, and reverse operation (the second track is played by switching to a second head set and running the tape backwards, so the reel need not be turned over). Note: these are series-level details for Perfectone's DABE valve machines; figures published specifically for the DABE 301 remain scarce, so exact per-model values are not assigned.
