Additional Information
Swiss battery-portable field recorder (Perfectone Corporation AG, Port bei Biel/Bienne), marketed from about 1959 as a 'sound truck in a suitcase' and a direct competitor to Nagra; used for film and broadcast sync work, including by the BBC.
Configuration: valve electronics, full-track mono, two heads (permalloy), 7-inch reels, 7.5 ips (a related EP6A II ran 19.05 cm/s). A pilot/sync indicator by the VU meter showed camera-to-tape sync.
Audio: frequency response about 30 Hz-13 kHz (+/-3 dB).
Power/physical: battery-powered (8-12 hours), briefcase case approx. 36 x 31 x 12 cm; 6.2 kg without batteries (7.2 kg with). Perfectone was later bought out by Nagra.
