Plessey 700B

Record version of the Australian Plessey 700 professional deck (Rola/Byer lineage), a high-quality mono machine. Performance: capable at 15 ips; enthusiasts report that, pushed hard with special tape and elevated erase/record current, it can approach roughly 86 dB unweighted signal-to-noise at 15 ips - near-digital performance under non-standard test conditions. New headblocks can be fitted; Plessey does not appear to have produced a factory stereo version.
