The portable 900-P (sometimes referred to as the PT-900 recording system was comprised of a single-motor, 7 inch reel version of the R7-tape mechanism and an A-920 amplifier. Features included three heads, three microphone channels with master gain control in recording amplifier, Weston type 30 illuminated VU meter switchable to show record level, playback level, bias current and erase current and a 2-speed capstan motor with toggle switch for 7.5 ips and 15 ips.
