IMPORTANT - likely mis-categorised: the Pye 'Black Box' BB/A (Pye Ltd., Cambridge, 1958) is a valve hi-fi RECORD PLAYER, not a reel-to-reel tape recorder. It used a Garrard turntable, a valve line-up of ECC82 and two PCL83s driving a ~5 W amplifier, and four loudspeakers (mono). It is a landmark British domestic record player of the mid-1950s.
