Additional Information
This oddity is the only other single spool recorder I have come across other than the mysterious Countess/Timbra. Single spool in appearance only, that is. In fact there were two spools, one on top feeding an internal (hidden) take-up reel. The Multicorder was produced by Norwegian company Radionette and was a two-speed, quarter-track recorder with a maximum spool size of 5 inches and both battery and mains operation. Fully solid state (8 transistors and 5 diodes) the Multicorder boasted a 1.3 watt output, frequency response up to 10 kHz and instantaneous selection of all four tracks without changing the tape. Priced at 39 GBP 18s when new and distributed by Denham and Morley Ltd, this novel recorder only had limited success in the UK.
