Radio Shack 'Realistic' TR-3000 (Model 14-700) - a rebadged Teac X-3/X-300 made in Japan by Teac, differing only cosmetically. A capable consumer stereo deck sold around $500.
Configuration: 4-track, 2-channel stereo; 7.5 and 3.75 ips; up to 7-inch reels; three hard-permalloy heads (separate erase/record/play for off-tape monitoring); three motors (FG-servo DC capstan plus two eddy-current reel motors); logic/solenoid pushbutton control; high/low bias and EQ switches; mic/line mixing; EE-tape compatible; timer record/play.
Audio: frequency response about 30 Hz-28 kHz; wow & flutter below 0.06% WRMS; crosstalk ~50 dB at 1 kHz; harmonic distortion ~0.8% at 1 kHz; rewind ~140 s for 1,800 ft.
