Wilcox-Gay 'Recordio' Prestomatic (USA, c.1955-58), a valve consumer home recorder.
Configuration: mono, two speeds (3.75 and 7.5 ips), two heads (permalloy), 7-inch reels, 110-120 V. Five piano-key pushbuttons handle transport; tone (left) and volume/on-off (right) knobs; two neon indicators show optimum level and peak/overload.
Audio: frequency response quoted between roughly 85 Hz-8 kHz and 70 Hz-10.5 kHz depending on version; wow & flutter below 0.5%; signal-to-noise about 35 dB.
