East German (GDR) valve reel-to-reel from the 'Smaragd' (Emerald) BG20 series, built by VEB Messgeratewerk Zwonitz under the RFT umbrella (from 1958).
Configuration: half-track mono, two heads (permalloy), two speeds (3.75 and 7.5 ips / 9.53 and 19.05 cm/s), 7-inch (18 cm) reels, single motor with large flywheel, IEC equalisation, 110-120 / 220-240 V; valves EF86, ECC81, EL84, EM11.
Audio: frequency response roughly 60 Hz-12 kHz (higher speed) / 60 Hz-9 kHz (lower speed).
