Additional Information
Australian all-valve professional reel-to-reel (Rola Tape Recorder Division, South Melbourne), introduced in 1962; its deck was a ground-up redesign developed 1959-62, evolving the earlier Byer 66 / Rola 77 line (Byer was bought by Rola in 1957). This Rola/Byer engineering later fed into the Plessey 700 series.
Configuration: quarter-inch mono, professional-grade, 15 and 7.5 ips capable, conforming to CCIR standards.
Performance (family reference): timing accuracy about +/-0.1%, fast wind ~45 s for 1,200 ft, distortion under 1%, frequency response at 7.5 ips about 40 Hz-10 kHz (+/-2 dB) and at 15 ips about 40 Hz-15 kHz (+/-2 dB); the Mk III improved on these.
