The TEAC X-2000 is a high-fidelity, solid-state reel-to-reel tape deck produced in Japan between 1984 and 1994, designed for serious audiophile and semi-professional use.
Track System: 4-track, 2-channel stereo or monaural operation with three heads (erase, record, playback).
Tape Speeds: Supports two standard speeds — 3¾ ips (9.5 cm/s) and 7½ ips (19 cm/s) — with ±0.5% speed accuracy.
Reel Size: Compatible with 7-inch and 10½-inch reels (Type 17 and Type 26 NAB reels).
Heads: Uses Permalloy heads arranged for forward erase, record, and playback.
Motors: One FG DC servo capstan motor and two DC slotless reel motors for smooth tape transport.
