Additional Information
Affordable Czechoslovak home reel-to-reel (Tesla, 1980-1983); its mechanics stem from the older B5 (late 1960s). In an Eastern-bloc market where cassette decks topped out around 10 kHz with no noise reduction, these reels offered superior sound and longer playing time.
Configuration: single-speed (9.53 cm/s / 3.75 ips), four-track stereo; one motor, two heads (erase, plus combined record/play), heavy flywheel; up to 18 cm (7-inch) reels; 5-pin DIN connectivity; VU meters.
Audio: theoretical frequency range 50 Hz-14,000 Hz; wow & flutter below 0.3% when properly set up; minimum stereo separation about 26 dB. Plays horizontally only; the motor was prone to overheating.
