Uher 4000 Report Monitor

Final evolution of the Uher Report 4000 line, in production until 1992 and standard-issue field recorder for BBC News reporters through much of the 1980s. Half-track mono, three heads, four tape speeds, two levels of automatic recording level control or fully manual setting, and a built-in speaker. DIN connectors throughout apart from a 1/4-inch headphone jack. Ran from 5x D-cell batteries or an external power supply, with a wide range of accessories including telephone adaptors and a sound-activated Akustomat auto-start/stop unit.
