Uher Royal De Luxe

Uher's first recorder designed for either horizontal or vertical operation, with interchangeable head assemblies for half-track or quarter-track use and, uniquely for Uher at the time, parabolic heads that eliminated the need for pressure pads. Four tape speeds from 7½ down to 15/16 ips, a built-in 'Dia-Pilot' feature for automatic slide-projector synchronization, 7-inch reel capacity and a 2x10 watt output amplifier into 4-ohm speakers. Later variants added synchronous sound-on-sound, echo/reverb effects and multiplay.
