Viking 88 'Stereo Compact'

Tube-based half/quarter-track stereo or mono deck using three Nortronics heads, a hysteresis-synchronous capstan motor plus two induction reel motors. Viking marketed it as an evolution of a design largely unchanged since the 1956 model 77, adding a pause control, improved autostop, a pilot light and a push-button tape counter.
