Additional Information
British monaural valve reel-to-reel (Vortexion Ltd., Wimbledon, London; firm founded 1936 by the Brown brothers), a high-quality machine for engineers working in mono, from the mid/late 1950s.
Drive/audio: built on the Wearite 3A transport (the WVB used the 3B); a 4 W amplifier drives an internal 7 x 4-inch speaker; the recording can be heard on the internal loudspeaker.
Relationship: essentially the WVB without 'Before and After' monitoring, dubbing and echo; a heavy lidded portable, roughly 572 x 400 x 210 mm, 220-240 V.
