Budget in-house design using Walter's robust two-speed Mk II tape deck (at a time when most British makers used bought-in Collaro/Garrard mechanisms), with a Tandberg-style joystick transport control and a 4-stage printed-circuit amplifier driving an 8x5-inch Elac speaker. A single-speed version without "de luxe" badging was sold for a little less.
