Additional information

The Dual CS 606 turntable is a classic vintage direct-drive turntable produced in the late 1970s and early 1980s. It is known for its robust build and high-quality performance, particularly in its ability to handle various music genres. The turntable features an integrated tonearm and a built-in tone control that allows users to adjust the sound to their preferences. It supports playback speeds of 33.3 and 45 RPM, covering a wide range of records available in the market.

The Dual CS 606 was part of a series of turntables introduced by Dual in 1980, including the CS 506 and CS 706 models. These turntables were designed to compete with Japanese brands like Pioneer, Sony, and Technics, which were dominating the market at the time. The CS 606 was specifically designed with an Ultra Low Mass (ULM) tonearm and cartridge system, which was marketed as a significant improvement over previous models. This system was intended to improve the turntable's ability to handle warped records, a common issue due to the decline in record quality during the mid-1970s.

The turntable includes an electronically governed direct-drive motor system, which was a popular feature in mid-range turntables of that era. It also features an end-of-side auto-stop mechanism activated by a microswitch, which was a balance between fully manual and fully automatic turntables.

The Dual CS 606 was originally shipped with a Dual brand Ortofon cartridge, the TKS155, and a DN155E stylus. However, it is common for users to have replaced the original cartridge with different models over time. The recommended tracking force for the original cartridge is 1.5±0.25g.
