Additional information
The EAT Forte-S turntable is a high-performance vinyl record player that follows the impressive Forte model from Euro Audio Team. Despite its name suggesting a smaller size, the Forte-S is still a substantial piece of equipment, with a platter size reduced from 40 cm to 36 cm and its weight from 20 kg to 15 kg. The design philosophy behind this reduction is to store as much moving mass as possible on the outer side of the platter, which enhances sound quality.
The platter incorporates Sorbothane damping on the inner side and a black damping matt produced from recycled vinyl on the outer side, making it completely silent. The turntable features a terrific inverted bearing construction with a ceramic ball facing Teflon, and the pressure on the ceramic ball is reduced by two enormous neodymium magnets that hold the platter and take over most of the load.
The EAT Forte-S is 55 cm wide and has a single-piece construction with two AC motors symmetrically built on the right side of the platter, eliminating the need for two belts of different lengths. The motor operation is simplified to three main keys: 33.3, 45, and on/off button.
Both the EAT Forte-S and its predecessor are mass-loaded with huge magnetic feet that act as a sub-chassis, and the Forte-S uses four magnetic feet with adjustable height for optimal stability. The dimensions of the EAT Forte-S are 55 × 45 × 25 cm, and it weighs 44 kg. It is available in two options: high gloss piano black and high gloss Makassar (ebony wood).
