The Garrard 2025T turntable includes a cue and pause control that enables the pickup arm to be raised or lowered at any part of the record, reducing the risk of damage to the stylus or record due to careless handling.
Regarding the auto-placement of the needle, the Garrard 2025T uses a mechanical system rather than sensors. There is a small hole in the platter through which a nub sticks up. When a 12-inch record is placed on the platter, it pushes down on the nub, signaling the turntable to place the needle correctly. A 7-inch record does not push down on the nub, so the turntable knows to adjust the placement accordingly.
