The Garrard 301 Classic turntable is a high-quality reproduction of the iconic 1953 model, meticulously built and combined in a unique package of SME M2-12R precision tonearm and a new generation solid walnut isolation plinth. It features a high-torque AC motor and idler-wheel drive, ensuring fast startups required by broadcasters and offering timeless styling and high-quality construction. The turntable is finished in high-quality ivory enamel paint and is available in any RAL chart color of your choice.
The Garrard 301's platter is rim-driven, high mass, and accurately balanced. The motor is induction, spring-suspended, and magnetically screened, with voltage options for dual ranges of 100-130 and 200-250 volts, 50 or 60 cycles to the motor pulley.
The original Garrard 301 was introduced in 1953 and was the first transcription turntable that played at 33⅓, 45, and 78 rpm speeds. It featured a 4-pole Garrard Induction motor driving an idle wheel which drove the platter from inside its rim. The chassis and platter were made from diecast aluminum and weighed 16 pounds, with 6 pounds of that being the platter.
The new Garrard 301 Classic guarantees another half-century of listening pleasure, combining the classic design with modern handcrafted excellence.
