Additional information
The Garrard DD75 is a 2-speed, semi-automatic, direct drive turntable4. It was manufactured in England between 1976 and 1980.
The Garrard DD75 is a direct drive transcription turntable and pickup arm, known for its manual record play and opto-electronic trip system that triggers pickup arm lift and motor switch off at the end of a record. It features a diecast, balanced aluminum turntable mounted on a direct drive motor, which is servo electronically controlled to provide 33 and 45 rev/min turntable speeds, with a +/- 3% pitch control (about a semitone). The pickup arm is of the swan-neck, offset type with jeweled cross bearings and a miniaturised Garrard Type C5 cartridge slide that accepts a wide range of cartridges. The plinth is typically made of veneered wood with a vinyl coating, designed to be low resonance and mounted on anti-vibration feet.
