Additional information
The Goldmund Studio turntable, when paired with the T3 tonearm, offers a robust, dynamic, midrange-focused, and transparent sound with strong bass.
History: The Goldmund Studio and T3 tonearm were first manufactured in 1981. The Goldmund Reference turntable followed in 1982 and made use of the T3 Tonearm technology. In 1983, the Goldmund Studio Turntable LP was selected by the Absolute Sound as one of the 12 Analog Components That Shook the Audio World.
Design: The Goldmund Studio is a "Classic Turntable" design. It features a fully suspended upper plate on three springs, where the DD (direct drive) motor is mounted, along with the tonearm.
Tonearm: The T3 tonearm is a linear tracking arm that requires a separate control box. The arm is fluid-damped; too little fluid results in a thin and hard sound, while too much leads to a muddy and veiled sound, according to the instruction manual. Setting up the T3 tonearm can be challenging, involving adjustments to the tonearm carriage angle, tracking force, cartridge azimuth, VTA, spring rotation, and silicone damping fluid levels.
Motor: The motor includes manual speed control via two potentiometers. The motor might have internal electronic issues.
Performance: The Goldmund Studio T3 is known for its musicality, dynamics, transparency, and bass. When properly set up, it offers excellent sound quality
