Additional information
Drive Type: The JH Reproducers turntable is a belt drive turntable. It's powered by a small clock motor with a round belt.
Plinth: The turntable typically came with a wooden base. The user was expected to mount the deck in a plinth of their own construction. One user described the base as being approximately eighteen inches by fifteen inches by five inches, with no suspension.
Speeds: It is a 2-speed turntable.
Tonearm: JH Reproducers also manufactured the JH Formula 4 tonearm. This tonearm was a unipivot design. The effective length of the tonearm is 240mm. The turntable may also come with an Excel ES-801 tonearm.
Motor: The turntable uses a synchronous motor.
Performance: The mechanism is considered pretty good when mounted in a proper plinth. The turntable mechanism seems to be designed in the low mass and low torque, hence low rumble mode.
Power: Requires 200 to 250 volts AC, 50 cps, 5 Watts.
Other Features Adjustable arm counterbalance and anti-skate bias weighting adjustment.
JH Reproducers was an Australian company. In the late 60s to mid 70s, they manufactured a basic, inexpensive turntable. The company also produced the JH unipivot arm, which was well-regarded.
