The Mark Levinson No. 5105 turntable is a high-performance, precision-engineered analog turntable designed for audiophiles. 


Design and Build


  • Front Panel and Display: Features a 1-inch thick, bead-blasted, black-anodized solid aluminum front panel that seamlessly integrates with a recessed tinted glass display framed by a clear-anodized aluminum bezel.

  • Plinth: Nearly 2-inch thick solid aluminum plinth machined from a single billet, suspended on three adjustable aluminum feet with internal suspension for vibration isolation.

  • Weight: Weighs approximately 69 to 75 lbs, depending on the configuration.


Tonearm and Cartridge


  • Tonearm: Custom 10-inch high-gloss black carbon fiber tonearm with a solid aluminum headshell and integrated finger lift. The tonearm is height adjustable and has an effective length of 254 mm (10 inches).

  • Cartridge: Pre-mounted Ortofon Quintet Black S moving coil cartridge with a Shibata nude diamond stylus (optional in some configurations).

  • Cartridge Type: Moving Coil (MC).


Platter and Bearing


  • Platter: A 14 lb solid aluminum platter with ultra-precise bearings, supported by a ground-hardened steel axle. It features an oil-free composite bearing bottom with integrated lubrication and maintenance-free sintered brass bushing.

  • Platter Mat: Comes with a signature platter mat.


Motor and Drive System


  • Motor Type: Isolated 12V synchronous motor with digitally generated control signals for speed stability and ultra-low wow/flutter. The motor is temperature drift-free.

  • Drive Type: Belt drive supporting playback speeds of 33 1/3 RPM and 45 RPM.
