Ad Fontes Origins

Ad Fontes is a Polish manufacturer of custom analog turntables based in Łódź, Poland. The company has been in operation for 15 years as of the current date, and it was founded by Andrzej Kozlowski, who is also the designer of the turntables. Kozlowski began building turntables in the 1960s to improve the listening experience of vinyl records, driven by his absolute pitch and sensitivity to sound distortions.

The company’s origins can be traced back to Kozlowski’s personal passion for perfect sound reproduction. He started by creating turntables and amplifiers to enhance the comfort of listening to music from vinyl records. Over time, he realized that his engineering knowledge needed to be complemented by a deeper understanding of sound quality. This led to continuous modifications and improvements to his designs, aiming for better sound reproduction.

In the 1990s, after the transformation in Poland, Kozlowski gained access to new materials and components, which allowed him to refine his turntable designs further. Ad Fontes turntables are known for their unique design, craftsmanship, and sound quality, with each turntable being a reflection of the owner’s vision of sound and surroundings.
