Almedio Origins

Almedio, the Japanese company that presented the Optora ORP-1 optical (laser) turntable, is a manufacturer of computer drives. The company first introduced the Optora ORP-1 at the HIGH END Munich audio show in May 2018. However, the turntable was a non-working mockup, and despite some promotional materials, it was never put on the market. The company’s website dedicated to the Optora turntable has since been deleted, and there is no further information available about the origins or history of Almedio as an audio manufacturer.
